KYOTO MIYAMA TOURISM ASSOCIATION
The region of Miyama lies just 50km north of central Kyoto:surrounded on all sides by mountains, it is a pristine wilderness where the traditional country life style still flourishes. The Yura river, originating from Ashiu virgin forest at the east end of the region runs across Miyama from east to west and ends up Japanese sea.
One of the most popular tourist attraction “Miyama’s thatched village” has been designated as National Important Preservation District for Group of Traditional Buildings.
The whole area has been designated as Kyoto Tamba kogen quasi national park on 2016. The park gives visitors the opportunity to experience the culture of local people living in harmony with nature and to learn how they have passed on their traditional culture, from generation to generation.
Our staff are all true locals with an excellent understanding of local tourism. Our team is guaranteed to provide 1-to-1 service and support to bring you a wonderful memories.
